Join us in celebrating TASS's incredible 40-year journey as a sailing club! We held an extraordinary celebration to honor the countless nautical milestones, the thrill of sailing the surf, the vast seas sailed, and the triumphs of tacks, jibes, and races. Above all, we hold dear the numerous friendships forged along our sailing odyssey. TASS boasts a rich history in the Galveston Bay area, evolving from a single sailing organization to a progressive club welcoming singles and couples, boat owners and non-boat owners. We're dedicated to embracing innovation, expanding membership, and supporting a range of sailing activities, from casual sails to moonlight adventures and the time-honored Commodores Cup Racing series. Our commitment to Women in Sailing has flourished in recent years, which is evident in our expanding all-women training and growing participation in the annual Carol Becker Women’s Regatta. This year, we're excited to mark the 28th year along with the Tie One on for “BUZZ” after-race party as legacy lives on. Galveston Bay's vibrant sailing community sees TASS members shining in other clubs, enhancing our collective sailing prowess. We proudly participate in events like the Harvest Moon Regatta, and The Mermaid Women's Regatta, showcasing our dedication to sailing excellence. Beyond the seas, TASS fosters a lively social scene with cherished traditions like the Lois Geyer - Black-eyed Pea Cookoff, (long live the Pea Trophy), Superbowl party, Great Burger Flip after-race party, Pig Roast, Costume Halloween party, and the Canyon Lake trip. We eagerly welcomed the TASS' familiar and new faces, near and far, embracing everyone with the pride we continue to sail with. As it goes… “I found my TRIBE when I found TASS!” and tribes-people stick together, always returning. “TASS is the family you chose, not the family you were born into.” We chose YOU to join us! |
