202 Rock the Pink Race

The 6th Annual ROCK the PINK, Breast Cancer Awareness race is in the bag. October 2nd trip to the start line was very WET!. THEN, the WIND decided to move to another state, or at least it was non existing at the start line. Boats drifted, bobbed, did unintentional 360's, fenders were out to avoid collisions, with the first boat sliding sideways across the start.  Finally, 6 boats got across the start and the "RACE" was more like turtles on the beach than boats on the water. Out race czar radioed as he wisely shortened the course and we had an official finish.

First place was Oxbow, Andrew and crew were out front the whole race. Marty and the Hobgoblin crew beat out Mystic winds on the kerfuffle at the start and captured 2nd place.  Mystic Winds pushed with Emily as her fearless leader and was rewarded with a 3rd place finish but they were the most colorful PINK Crew on the water. 4th place show was 2 Thumbs UP as it was nice to see Jim LeBlanc in the race.

This year Fund Raiser is going to the PINK DOOR. Donations can be made directly to the PINK DOOR. If every person on our Facebook page donate only $5.00 ea we can raise $2500.00 for this cause that helps women and men with their  financial and medical needs.

Returning this year was the bright smile of our Honorary Chairwoman for the race was our long-time TASS member, Dr. Barbara Bukowski. Babs presented the trophies along with John Klumb our race czar.

2021 Carol Becker

What an amazing day to celebrate the 25th Annual Carol Becker Women's Regatta.

As TASS Carol Becker Woman's Regatta is a qualification race for the Galveston Bay Woman's Championship, we were able to support women in racing with 3 race classes and 12 participating boats.

Our Committee Boat , thanks to Errol Gomez and his crew anchored at the #1/2 channel marker and monitored the race.  Thanks Errol and crew.

Race Participants and TASS members and guests celebrated after the race with a fun filled party, music, food and of course the "Tie One On For Buzz" tie contest.

Thanks to all the boats that participated. We hope you enjoyed the race and we will see you often at the TASS race Series.
